  1. Clayton,

Thank you for your work and the wonderful list! I am especially glad you include Dr. Mohler’s podcasts (The Briefing and Thinking in Public). They are are the 2nd most important part of my day behind prayer and Bible study.

Maybe there should be a section on expository preaching in your list starting with J. Vernon McGee’s Thru The Bible and a reference to your previous podcast about expository preaching. I may not agree with every statement he made but it seems to me that any ministry that lasts 40 years after the passing of its founder is likely God driven.

Thank you again, God bless and keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you so much – Glad you’ve found the resource helpful and appreciate the suggested addition.

  2. At Home With Sally with Sally Clarkson is great for moms with sound Biblical wisdom. It’s been very encouraging to me as a mom to little ones.

  3. I do not see it listed in the comments—though admittedly I sorta skimmed through them instead of reading word for word—but “Theocast”, hosted by the pastors of Community Bible Church-Nashville, has become over time my favorite podcast of all … and I listen to quite a few on the main list. They have a Reformed bent; I think for most of 2019 they are going to go through the 1689 London Baptist Confession.

  4. I would recommend the Word on Fire podcast.

There’s also an RSS feed for Robert Barron’s weekly sermons.

  5. I noticed that there were no podcasts in the list from the perspective of the folks that began the Reformation. But I could suggest one. I believe that Thinking Fellows with Rod Rosenbladt (from the White Horse Inn) would fall into that evangelically Reformation middle from a Lutheran perspective that would be a great contribution to the list.

  6. Twojourneys.org includes all the teaching (Sunday school, Bible studies, sermons, and other addresses) of
Andy Davis. Each one includes video or audio, a transcript, and his personal notes. Bible study notebooks are currently being done for each Bible book he has preached on. These will be available as a free download.
A resource I would especially recommend is his (free) pamphlet on Extended Scripture Memorization.

  7. I would add: “The World and Everything In It” to the news & politics as well as “Listening In” and “Ordered Liberty”.
“Thinking Biblically: Conversations on Faith & Culture
Also “Family Life Today” and “Popcorn Theology”

  8. Posting a quick comment to say thank you so much for this podcast lists and for all the commenters who shared their favorite ones.
    Here’s a great addition:
Saving Grace by Grace School of Theology at http://bit.ly/GSOTsavingGrace. It’s also available in iTunes at http://bit.ly/GSOTdotEDU and Twitter at https://twitter.com/savinggracecast

What I love about the podcast is that not only you can listen to the School’s President Dr. Dave Anderson but you also have the privilege listening to some of their awesome professors.

    Thanks again!

  9. Thank you so much for all of the podcast recommendations! I listen to podcasts while I work so I’m always looking for new ones to edify me.
For all of the women and mommas out there I’ve been very encouraged by the Risen Motherhood podcast and Journeywomen podcast. Both are hosted by wonderful women of God who are not afraid to take the mask off of motherhood and show Christ in the messy.

  10. Have to recommend Dr. Heiser’s Naked Bible podcast as well as his books and also Canary Cry Radio is a must listen for a biblical perspective on current events.
    Cheers!

  11. For women:

    Sheologians (http://sheologians.com/)
Co-hosts Summer White (daughter of Dr. James White) and Joy Temby (“Joy the Girl” from Apologia Radio). Put out by Apologia Studios.

    What Have You (https://www.nsa.edu/what-have-you-podcast/)
Sisters Bekah Merkle and Rachel Jankovic (daughters of Douglas Wilson). Put out by New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. Be aware that the podcast feed includes all of the podcasts/lectures from NSA, not just this one.

    Current Events and Politics:

    CrossPolitic (http://crosspolitic.com/)
Co-hosts Gabriel Rench, Pastor Toby Sumpter, and the Chocolate Knox (David Shannon). The intersection of church and politics. Current events–both news and issues facing the church–and interviews.

    Theology:

The Plodcast: Applied Theology with Douglas Wilson (http://canonpress.libsyn.com/website)
Usually running about 20 minutes, it’s divided into three segments: how to think Christianly about a certain topic in current events, economics, philosophy, etc.; a book recommendation; and a lexicon of sin–examining and unpacking all of the different Greek words for various sins in the New Testament.

    Christian Living:

    The Chronicles of Narnia (https://www.ancientfaith.com/podcasts/series/the_chronicles_of_narnia)
Yes, the whole series is read in the Readings from Under the Grapevine podcast.

    From Warhorn Media (https://warhornmedia.com/):

    The Bookening
In-depth discussion of literature, from classics like Pride and Prejudice and Beowulf to more recent works like Heart of Darkness and Murder on the Orient Express.

    The World We Made
The 8-episode first season is on the topic of homosexuality, featuring excerpts from an in-depth interview with Pastor Tim Bayly. Really solid.

    Sound of Sanity
    Various topics.

    Apologetics:

    Creation Training Initiative (http://www.creationtraining.org/feed/podcast/)
    Host Mike Riddle.

  12. I just found one that just recently started. Found him on the radio, but he’s also got the podcast on FinallyAliveRadio.com. He’s a Christian Counselor and shares some personal stories. One of his message freed me of some issues I had been experiencing since after my divorce. He can also talk a little apologetics. Worth a listen. I just subscribed!

  13. Check out Steel on Steel with John Loeffler. John is a 47 year broadcast veteran and has a nationally syndicated Christian perspective talk radio program called Steel on Steel. http://www.steelonsteel.com. He typically has really informed guests and is probably one of the most well-read, deep thinkers of today. You may recognize him from his days doing the intros for 6640 with Dr. Chuck Missler. He also co-hosts the Financial Sense Newshour podcast with Jim Puplava.

His specialty is in worldview apologetics and geopolitical event analysis that connects the dots across multiple generations and dominant cultural narratives.

You can get the half-hour “Short Show” free in most podcast libraries and they also have an inexpensive membership to listen to the weekly 2+ hour program covering everything from worldviews to debate, current geopolitical events, economics, tech advancements, religious issues, free speech wars, you name it! You can do a free month trial but the full membership also grants access to nearly two decades of weekly shows.

I’ve been a regular listener to his program since the 90’s and I’ve heard a lot of other various so-called Christian news programs, but Steel on Steel is just a cut above the rest.

    Thanks!

  14. Christian Questions is a weekly Christian podcast that aims to provoke meaningful discussion along spiritual lines. We invite you to “Think about the Bible like you never have before.” The show began airing on terrestrial radio June 12th, 1998 as a result of an idea to produce a Christian radio talk show that was Bible-based, where discussion and opinions would be welcome.

The live podcast takes place every Monday evening from 8 PM – 9:30 PM EST. Christian Questions has also developed an app, available on Google Play as well as in the App Store.

  15. Faith Talk Radio is a good podcast! We sponsor Inspirational Bible listening and so much more. Program is 5 – 7 days a week.

  16. Thank you all for sharing comments and links – Jesus will build His church and these are definitely some saints swinging the hammers of faith in an unbelieving world. Thank you for enriching my walk with these great links. Grace and Peace in Our Lord

    1. Thanks, Alan. The Stand to Reason team does some great work. Koukl’s book Tactics remains one of the books I recommend most often. Great additions to the list!

  17. I really enjoy the Mark Gungor show. He’s very candid about sexual issues & goes against the “Christian culture” at times, but really makes sense theologically.

  18. I very much appreciate this list, thank you! I didn’t see Family life Today on it or my very, all time favorite “New Life Live” which is a call in Christian counseling program. The guys and Jill are always so kind, understanding, helpful and Funny! Try to check em out!

  19. Thank you for this list! I have referenced it a few times in the past.. I appreciate the theological soundness of these suggestions. Most of the lists I’ve seen are just the top trending religious podcasts that really have no solid basis in Biblical doctrine.

I see that this list is a couple of years old, so I don’t know if you are still updating. If I may be so bold as to recommend the podcast from our church elders (including my husband). It’s called CongreGate: Biblical conversations on church & culture. We are solidly Reformed, with a Gospel-centered perspective on current events. (http://congregatepodcast.com)

    1. Thanks Sara –

Yes, this page is being continually updated with podcasts. I’ve tried to only include selections that are edifying and doctrinally sound, and I’m glad you’ve found the list helpful!

I’ll be sure to add yours to the list of ones I need to check out; in the meantime thanks for leaving the information in the comments so others can give it a listen as well.

      – Clay

    1. The only one that comes to mind at the moment is Adventures in Odyssey. I am sure there are a number of other Christian podcasts and Bible stories for kids, but not that I’ve listened to yet.

If you come across one you like, feel free to add a comment and share it!

  20. How about a section on discernment/polemics? I would recommend Pulpit and Pen, Polemics Report, and Pirate Christian Radio.

  21. Apologia Radio definitely needs to go on the list.
These go to 11 is another good one.
    Doctrine and Devotion
    Reformed Pubcast

    1. Thanks Kimberly — Sadly, a lot of the theological resources targeted to women have been shallow. Glad to hear that you are working to help bring sound theology to sisters in Christ through your podcast and upcoming website!

      — Clay

  22. Three Views On is a great, funny Christian podcast by three Australian guys.
They’re on iTunes and threeviewson.com is their website. Check them out!

  23. Wretched radio with Todd Friel is a daily two hour radio program that issues a summary 15 minute podcast for some episodes. There is even an app for iPhone to listen to the radio program. Theological discussions of current events, etc.

  24. I would recommend:
The Hope For The Journey Podcast
It focuses on ministering to prodigal especially drug addicts, but also looks at other topics the church has shied away from.
Leaving the 99 in search of the one so to speak
    http://wp.me/p5f12l-5C
    http://www.myHopeJourney.co
    @myHopeJouney

    A Clear Lens
    Apologetics: Fun Sized
All the truth of the word with a focus on apologetics, but a very entertaining format.
    http://www.clearlens.org
    @aclearlens

    Everything According To Tony Vance
Current Events through a Christian World View
If Andy Taylor had a podcast…
    http://www.tonyvance.com

  25. I’ve been doing a show since 2008 called “Echo Zoe.” It would probably fit best under “Theology.” It’s a monthly show & I interview different people on various theological topics, including several of the people in this list. Some shows discuss doctrines of the Faith, and others address various false teachings.

  26. witnesstalkradio.org – its a christian radio show based out of Cincinnati which the host interviews students of UC and shares the gospel with them. It also has some teaching sessions and has had interviews with Eric Hovind, Paul Taylor, Ray Comfort and upcoming….Paul Washer

  27. Suggesting:
    http://www.hagmannandhagmann.com

The hosts Doug and Joe Hagmann and their pod-casts are MUST for
today’s learners; as well as: their quests linked on
their site. An excellent springboard to today’s
happenings in the Christian world view…

  28. http://www.searchthescriptures.org, Search The Scriptures with Dr. Carl Broggi, pastor of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, SC. His sermons are online and he has a weekly call-in radio program called The Bible Line, where listeners can call in with questions about the Bible or cultural issues, etc. Awesome Bible teacher and man of God.

  29. Well. I notice they left the Reasons to Believe podcast out of the list also. I am a big fan of lots of this podcast but my number one favorite podcast is “I Didn’t Know That” by reasons.org. Why is it that so many people does not know about them? Is it because they are old Earth Creationist?

    1. Thanks Andres – There’s no grand conspiracy, I assure you. Thanks for helping expand the list!

  30. Issues, Etc., is a great mix of theology, church history, apologetics, and current events. The host Todd Wilken interviews experts in all of these various fields to address whatever the show’s topics are for the day.

    1. Thanks Zachary! These are some good ones to check out; I have not yet listened to the Defenders podcast and will do so. You’re right, there is a ton of great content on iTunes U, but I don’t think they can be considered podcasts either. We have an older article on free seminary courses which covers those a bit, but it could be greatly expanded: http://rsnbl.us/1Gnu9hZ

  31. Living on the Edge – with Chip Ingram daily podcast

To Every Man An Answer – is the daily Bible call-in program hosted by Pastor Mike Kestler and guest pastors, heard on CSN International.
