  1. How to determine which study to take. How much biblical training should I have to take the leadership program?

  2. I’m so glad you posted this! Not sure how I missed it back in August. But we’re currently researching “online” studies for our church to use for the January/February months when we often struggle with weather cancellations (we live in snowy New England!) Their Big Screen Bible Survey looks very good. Has anyone here taken that course yet? If so, any feedback? Or any experience with Professor Bert Downs? I’m not familiar with him. We’re a group of about a dozen people, mostly women but a few men, all at different stages in our faith maturity. This looks like a course all of us could benefit from.

    1. Hi Liza – Haven’t checked out that course personally, but it looks like it would be well-suited for a small group study!

    1. Hi Leah —

Glad that you made your way over to Biblical Training and found it helpful. Though I am not sure about all of them, it seems there are a number of Reformed lecturers on the site. Men such as JI Packer, Bill Mounce, Bryan Chappell, Timothy George, Wayne Grudem, Douglas Moo, John Piper, and many others are all Reformed (or at least have theological leaning in that direction).

Their statement of faith can be viewed here: Article 6 is especially helpful.

  3. I just finished Old Testament Survey with Douglas Stuart of Gordon-Conwell Seminary. It was excellent. I would do the reading in How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Fee and Stuart, plus the introductory material for books of the Bible in New Bible Commentary, then listen to the audio lectures by Stuart. I took notes on the readings and lectures. It took me 2 1/2 months to get through it, but I learned a lot. I highly recommend the course, and intend to take more of the courses on the website.

    1. Thanks for sharing, Tina. Glad to hear that you also found the resources over at Biblical Training helpful. We live in a great time to be able to have such easy access to solid theological resources!

  4. Thanks for your recommendation of May God continue to give you wisdom and discernment as you encourage people to pursue him and love others.
