Reformed Theology Memory Verses

Those who adhere to Reformed Theology are familiar with the 5 Solas and the Doctrines of Grace, also known as the Five Points of Calvinism. Here are some of the Bible verses in support of these doctrines that you can memorize.

The Five Solas

Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)

Ephesians 1:7 | In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

Sola Fide (Faith Alone)

Romans 3:28 | For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

Ephesians 2:8-9 | For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Solus Christus (Christ Alone)

John 14:6 | Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 | And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Soli Deo Gloria (Glory of God Alone)

Jude 1:25 | to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:31 | So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)

2 Timothy 3:16 | All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

The Doctrines of Grace

Total Depravity

Romans 8:7-8 | For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 3:10-11 | …as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.

Unconditional Election

John 6:44 | No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Romans 8:29 | For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Ephesians 1:4 | even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

Limited Atonement

Matthew 7:13 | Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 26:28 | for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:48 | And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

Irresistible Grace

John 6:37 | All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

Romans 8:30 | And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Perseverance of the Saints

John 10:28 | I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

John 5:24 | Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

  1. This is a great list! I was trying to find a list that did not include Jeremiah 29:11! One correction needed: the last verse is John 5:24
